Well here we are again. It is the time we reflect on our years events and memories. What will this next year hold for us? I pray that we will all find peace in our world, no matter where it is! May each of you that are part of my world have a wonderful new year and may that peace find you.

Annual Christmas Cookie Party Exchange
Last night we had our annaual Christmas Cookie Exchange Party. This has been a tradition for about 12 year. The party is held a one of the friends houses and the hostess serves a wonderful meal. We enjoy the evening and exchange gifts along with the cookie exchange. Each friend brings a basket or container to be exchange with the other friends. The basket exchange has been conducted in serval different manners. This year each basket is assigned a number and then we rolled a dice to see what number. Five friends, five numbers, who evered rolled a number other then there own received the basket with that assigned number. It is reall fun to see what everyone will bring. The exchange is not limited to just cookies, this year the were pies, muffins, bannana nut bread and cookies. This is a really fun way to get treats for the company coming for th holiday.
A BIG THANKS to Deb Jenkins for a wonderful turkey dinner with the fixins. THANKS for all the fun.
Love, you guys

4. Do I hang mistletoe? Yes Sidney won't let me forget. She has a thing about mistletoe!

This the Season
You know I like many other adults would love to feel the feeling of being a little child who just cannot wait for Santa to arrive. With the magic of all there is to Christmas time, the present we cannot wait to find under the tree, the smell of all of baking from the kitchen and the carols being sung and played every where you turn. The feeling of secretes of what presents you have for your loved ones.
And most of all the waiting all night on Christmas Eve to hear some sound of the bells on the Santa sleigh.
It is truly a magical time of the year.
One of the best things is to look at the joy in the children's eyes. I have been watching that twinkle of over thirty years now. First in my children's and now in the grandchildren.
Here's to the meromiers.

Filling in the blanks
I am most happy to say that I heard from Jeromy on Sunday Oct. 9, 2008. He called me from Germany. He is a Staff Sargent in the US Army. His job is a cook in at a Correction Facility for the Army. He has a year and a half left on his tour, he said he will be glad to come home to the states. He is married to Linsay and they have two children. A son named Jeramiah and a daughter Sidney. Linday has made me one of her friends on my space and so I was able to look at her picture. I searched every one to see what she and the children look like. Of course Jeromy is no longer a child and so it was also a treat to see what he looks like as an adult. I can see the little Jeromy in his eyes, he is srill there. I look forward to the time when Jeromy, Tony and the rest of the family can have a person to person visit.
We will be seeing Tony as soon as possible. But we have to wait to see Jeromy.

One of many to come
Last week I was informed of the death of one of my siblings. I now only have two brothers. This is not a surprise but it is a tragedy, one that has been in the making
for many, many years. If there is one thing I have learned over my fifty years is death is the ending of some things and the birth of others. After losing my Mother at the age of 10, many things were over looked by whole gambit of people. Not that it is any ones fault, it's just the way it was. Through this tragedy there is a light at the end of dark mist.
J.E. Turner Jr. (aka Noah Gustin) was married for a short time in the late 70's and Fathered the first of two sons. Anthony Steven Turner born in 1979. It is fuzzy just what J.E. did for many years for me. He was here and there, in and out. Then in early 80's J.E. he became a Father to a second son, Jeromy Reinpold. Noah at this point for he legally changed it to came back to Salt Lake City. He spent a year or so in S.L.C. and then went to Ariz. with my Dad. That was short lived and again he and Jeromy were gone out of our lives again.
The last time I time I had spoken to Noah was when he called me for my birthday. That was in 1994. In Sept. of that year we moved to Oasis Ut. I had did what I could to try to find Noah here and there. Once I found him on Classmates.com and I had heard from an Uncle that cousins who lived in Colorado Springs, Colo had seen him.
Not any thing more. Now I know why I had not heard any thing about him lately.
J.E. (aka Noah) died on Dec. 31, 2005. This is found in an Obituary in the Colorado Springs Gazette. NOAH GUSTIN
Born Oct. 13, 1960. Died Dec. 31, 2005.
Carpenter, eight-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by two sons, Jeromy Reinpold and Anthony Turner. Advantage Chapel of Memories.
I am at a loss right now. I have so many questions, with little way to get answers.
Back to the light. I have now spoken to Anthony (Tony)twice and he has blogged on myspace about his feelings. I think this is the silver lining to what is a sad ending. Tony is very happy to know who some of his family is and to know he is wanted. I hope to have the rest of my life to build a relationship with him. I hope
to let him know we are a loving family.
Hopefully Jeromy will be part of this family we are extending.

Remodeling
Lee and I are doing some remodeling. Do to things that were out of our control (refrigerator repair man tore an hole in the linoleum)we are replacing the linoleum in the kitchen and dining room. So like any good women who has taken the vowel to redecorated, I am up holding the oath. We spent half the day buying new flooring and paint. We had a quite a time exploring the option we had. Lee was very good at letting me get what I wanted. The colors of paint and the color of tile. I do have good taste, I picked him.
So today Lee fixed the hole in the celling where the swamp cooler was and we replaced it with central air. We are living right up town now.
I have been thinking about what colors I would like the new paint to be. I hope what I picked will look as good on the wall as it does in my mind.

My favorite time of year
This is by far my favorite season of the year. It is cooling down, the leafs are a gambit of colors, spider webs float in the breeze and life from a busy summer starts to wind down. The crops are in for the most part and the ground is settled for a long deserved nap. The fallen leaves cover the earth like a blanket to hold in the last of the warmth from the fading summer sun.
Halloween is in a week and so we will be seeing little ghost and goblins at our doors. I for one will be celebrating this season in a number of ways. First the gang and I are headed for Witch's Night Out and Gardner Village on this coming Friday. And second Cheryl and I will be dressing up on ALL HALL OWES EVE. The two of us said the year we turned fifty we would dress up and go Trick or Treating and this is the year. We are not telling a whole lot of people around us just so we can stay incognito. Sidney says that I a very different Grandma. I just don't cook and sew, that I do fun things. Well I guess that is true. I like to have adventure when I can.
Life is to short to not live it.

Golf is not for WIMPS
So the Chamber puts on a golf tournament called the Jack Rabbit Open, which they have every September. Well I talked a friend of mine and a couple we know in to playing. As it turns out there was an extra golfer who was not on a team. So THANK HEAVEN he joined us. He carried all of us. He golfs every week and so he is pretty good. He taught us all a lot. Jim was one of two men on the team the rest of us were girls. But for girls we all played 18 holes, and at times we had some pretty good shoots. All I have to say is Thank Goodness for golf carts. That was probably the funnest part of the day. They are kind of like bumper cars. No I did not, but I thought of it!!!!!!

I will let you know how it goes and what score I get. So for now wish me luck!

Girls Weekend
Boy what a good time we had on our Girls Weekend. Our good friend Chris Blake invited us to go to her cabin up Mt Pleasant Canyon. We left on Friday night, an came back to night at 8:00. We stopped in Nephi at Taco Time for dinner. We stopped in Mt Pleasant at Terrell's grocery store. We then headed up the canyon to the cabin. We unloaded the car and staked out our sleeping places. Chris slept in her room, Deb on the couch, Cheryl, Kim and I slept up in the loft. Kim had a queen size blow up bed, Cheryl and I each had a bed. We stayed up until 12:30 playing Meet em Beat em or Eat em, a card game Cheryl taught us. We had a great time.
Saturday we took Cheryl out for lunch for her 50th Birthday. Went shopping for awhile, hit Wallyworld and returned to the cabin. We didn't stay up as late as the night before, but we did play some more cards. Tonight Deb taught us Russia Rummie, what a fun card game.
Sunday we got up and just was plain lazy. I don't think most of us got out of our P.J."s until it was time to head for home. Some read, others napped, others frosted our hair. We watched a movie and just hung out. What a wonderful way to spend a weekend. We have a great time together. THANKS FOR GOOD TIMES.

Southern Ut Mother of the Year Award
This is something most of you don't know because she was very modest about it. Amanda won the Mother of the Year award for Southern Utah sponsored by the Utah Head Start Program. Out of the hundred's of Mothers who were nominated for this honor Amanda is the winner. But in my eyes she has always been a WINNER. She works a full time job, as well as raising her three children as a single Mother. The kids do see the fathers but this is only hours verses the many hours there are in a week. She makes sure the are clothed, fed, do fun things, learn, and all the things a good Mom does.
She has a love for all of Gods creatures large and small (even the disgusting ones-snakes-rats). She has acquired a dozen or so of little creators of the earth and cares for these also.
Once again school has began and she is running to and from the school daily and once again making sure the kids get what they need. I am very proud of her and want her to know it. So here it is for all of you who did not know.
Love ya Girl.

Been there cut that
Here I am as I call it, my office on wheels. There is nothing better then sitting in the drivers seat and looking out over the field at the carpet of green hay and at times a field of little purple flowers in bloom. Then you turn on the motor, push the handle forward, the air and tune's are flowing and off you go. Cutting hay is one of my favorite things to do on the farm. You see butterflies, dragonflies, moths, bees, mosquito's and a gambit of insects. Then there are the little animals, bunnies, pheasants, eagles, hawks and numerous other fowl friends. Once two coyotes came over to the last dyke on the south to forge for dinner. The first time I ever cut I was sitting thinking of how proud my Dad would be to see me sitting up there in my office. I even seem a eagle flying around and it was almost like he was there watching over me. Dad loved eagles and several times since his death I have seen one when I need a little comfort. I know it sound crazy and that is just all right with me. It is what it is.
I love to take the Grandchildren with me in the swather and I think they love to go to. Some times they will lay on the floor and sleep. Some times we sing, laugh and just talk. I hope they will remember the times we were together.

WHY
Why is it we never see how good we have it when it is right in front of us? Why is it we always think it is greener on the other side of the fence? Why is it we think no one else ever has it as ruff as we have it? Why can't we just be happy for the things God has granted us. Why can't we see the good and why do we focus on the bad? Why do we take it out on the ones who love us?

Where have the YEARS gone!
When each of the my three girls were born I though I'd have them for ever. Ever doesn't last very LONG. One day they are little and the next they are grown. This was so apparent to me today when I noticed how tall Sidney is getting. She is almost the height of my chin you are getting big. How did that happen? Just yesterday she was a baby, then I think back to her Mother I am sure it was just the day before that Amanda was that baby. HOW, How did this happen? I find there are a lot of things that have just slipped by through the years. Megan took pictures of me while she was here. I like the way she took the pictures but I don't like the look of me (well at least the image of me). In my eyes at least, the ones I look out of I am skinny, young and really cute. Not the girl I saw in the photos. Now thats not saying I am not happy, I am. Probably the happiest I have been in my life. I have related this story to a few friends of mine and they say the same thing. I have recently seen some pictures taken of me in the early 80's I thought the same things then. Little did I know what the future had in store. I guess this is the way it is for some of us. One of the things I don't like is not having the energy I used to have. Before I could go for days on end and some times weeks, now I am lucky to go for a few days in. Then I am wore out, tired and ready for the couch. Where did that all go. I KNOW it is wasted on all of the toddlers. I wish we could bottle up all that energy up and save it for us semi-old folks. That don't know how great naps really are. >WELL IT IS WHAT IT IS. Life in motion.

Megan has one heck of a talent
Megan has one heck of an talent. Earlier this year she invested in a professional cameras and has started a photography business. She was very busy this summer. She took picture of our newest member of the family, Mia. Three weddings, one bridal shoot, two other babies, two families, and me. (Well I am not sure they will be seen! Not because of Megan's work, more on that another time.) Here is a picture I took of her on the bridal shoot, I am was so excited to watch her at work. The whole evening was awesome. We couldn't have had a better back drop if we had painted it our self's. The bride in the picture is Chalee a good friend of mine and so is her Mother Deb Jenkins.

Memories
When Megan and Scott made their move to Ariz. I was more then a little apprhensive.
My Mothers side of the family lives on the East Coast. I know how hard it has been trying to know them. So having Megan and the kids come to visit us for a month in the summer is a real treat. Even if it means a million kids for a month. ( Okay maybe not a million.) We all have a great time going and going and going. I for one was worn out. The cousins will remember these good times and I hope they will all cherish them. One thing growing older has taught me, FAMILY REALLY IS FOREVER.

The sad end
We are down to two cows, two Lee bought at the Auction. Two we will be eating. Two very sad people who hoped for things to be a little different. One guy who has poured his heart and soul into long hours of work with little reward. One hope to make the best of the time we have left together. Oneness, we haven't had a lot of time to share over the past 21 years during these long hours of work. For every Season there is a time.
Number Eleven is on it's WAY
