One of many to come

Last week I was informed of the death of one of my siblings. I now only have two brothers. This is not a surprise but it is a tragedy, one that has been in the making
for many, many years. If there is one thing I have learned over my fifty years is death is the ending of some things and the birth of others. After losing my Mother at the age of 10, many things were over looked by whole gambit of people. Not that it is any ones fault, it's just the way it was. Through this tragedy there is a light at the end of dark mist.
J.E. Turner Jr. (aka Noah Gustin) was married for a short time in the late 70's and Fathered the first of two sons. Anthony Steven Turner born in 1979. It is fuzzy just what J.E. did for many years for me. He was here and there, in and out. Then in early 80's J.E. he became a Father to a second son, Jeromy Reinpold. Noah at this point for he legally changed it to came back to Salt Lake City. He spent a year or so in S.L.C. and then went to Ariz. with my Dad. That was short lived and again he and Jeromy were gone out of our lives again.
The last time I time I had spoken to Noah was when he called me for my birthday. That was in 1994. In Sept. of that year we moved to Oasis Ut. I had did what I could to try to find Noah here and there. Once I found him on Classmates.com and I had heard from an Uncle that cousins who lived in Colorado Springs, Colo had seen him.
Not any thing more. Now I know why I had not heard any thing about him lately.
J.E. (aka Noah) died on Dec. 31, 2005. This is found in an Obituary in the Colorado Springs Gazette. NOAH GUSTIN

I am at a loss right now. I have so many questions, with little way to get answers.
Back to the light. I have now spoken to Anthony (Tony)twice and he has blogged on myspace about his feelings. I think this is the silver lining to what is a sad ending. Tony is very happy to know who some of his family is and to know he is wanted. I hope to have the rest of my life to build a relationship with him. I hope
to let him know we are a loving family.
Hopefully Jeromy will be part of this family we are extending.

Remodeling

Lee and I are doing some remodeling. Do to things that were out of our control (refrigerator repair man tore an hole in the linoleum)we are replacing the linoleum in the kitchen and dining room. So like any good women who has taken the vowel to redecorated, I am up holding the oath. We spent half the day buying new flooring and paint. We had a quite a time exploring the option we had. Lee was very good at letting me get what I wanted. The colors of paint and the color of tile. I do have good taste, I picked him.
So today Lee fixed the hole in the celling where the swamp cooler was and we replaced it with central air. We are living right up town now.
I have been thinking about what colors I would like the new paint to be. I hope what I picked will look as good on the wall as it does in my mind.

My favorite time of year

This is by far my favorite season of the year. It is cooling down, the leafs are a gambit of colors, spider webs float in the breeze and life from a busy summer starts to wind down. The crops are in for the most part and the ground is settled for a long deserved nap. The fallen leaves cover the earth like a blanket to hold in the last of the warmth from the fading summer sun.
Halloween is in a week and so we will be seeing little ghost and goblins at our doors. I for one will be celebrating this season in a number of ways. First the gang and I are headed for Witch's Night Out and Gardner Village on this coming Friday. And second Cheryl and I will be dressing up on ALL HALL OWES EVE. The two of us said the year we turned fifty we would dress up and go Trick or Treating and this is the year. We are not telling a whole lot of people around us just so we can stay incognito. Sidney says that I a very different Grandma. I just don't cook and sew, that I do fun things. Well I guess that is true. I like to have adventure when I can.
Life is to short to not live it.

Golf is not for WIMPS

So the Chamber puts on a golf tournament called the Jack Rabbit Open, which they have every September. Well I talked a friend of mine and a couple we know in to playing. As it turns out there was an extra golfer who was not on a team. So THANK HEAVEN he joined us. He carried all of us. He golfs every week and so he is pretty good. He taught us all a lot. Jim was one of two men on the team the rest of us were girls. But for girls we all played 18 holes, and at times we had some pretty good shoots. All I have to say is Thank Goodness for golf carts. That was probably the funnest part of the day. They are kind of like bumper cars. No I did not, but I thought of it!!!!!!

This should be fun!!!

The Delta Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a golf tournament tomorrow here in Delta. I have sign up to be one of four of the team. Sounds fun right! Well the fun part is two of us have never golfed before! But I think I should try just once. And why not with a group of people I know. Its all about fun. I will let you know how it goes and what score I get. So for now wish me luck!

Girls Weekend

Boy what a good time we had on our Girls Weekend. Our good friend Chris Blake invited us to go to her cabin up Mt Pleasant Canyon. We left on Friday night, an came back to night at 8:00. We stopped in Nephi at Taco Time for dinner. We stopped in Mt Pleasant at Terrell's grocery store. We then headed up the canyon to the cabin. We unloaded the car and staked out our sleeping places. Chris slept in her room, Deb on the couch, Cheryl, Kim and I slept up in the loft. Kim had a queen size blow up bed, Cheryl and I each had a bed. We stayed up until 12:30 playing Meet em Beat em or Eat em, a card game Cheryl taught us. We had a great time.
Saturday we took Cheryl out for lunch for her 50th Birthday. Went shopping for awhile, hit Wallyworld and returned to the cabin. We didn't stay up as late as the night before, but we did play some more cards. Tonight Deb taught us Russia Rummie, what a fun card game.
Sunday we got up and just was plain lazy. I don't think most of us got out of our P.J."s until it was time to head for home. Some read, others napped, others frosted our hair. We watched a movie and just hung out. What a wonderful way to spend a weekend. We have a great time together. THANKS FOR GOOD TIMES.
